Dmytro (Dima) Zlenko
Master of Business Administration and Environmental Management
The effective integration of environmental, social, and governance factors requires keen observation with highly innovative solutions. We need these to minimize impacts on the planet. We also need our economy to thrive. As a practitioner in between business and the environment, I work with clients to offer internal strategies and consulting and professional services in this field. Whether it’s understanding carbon and biodiversity credits or investigating the position and value of critical minerals, I look to bridge the two with a combination of strong business and environmental education, training, experience, and language skills.
I have been curious about our natural world since early childhood. From my hometown of Kyiv, Ukraine, weeks-long caving expeditions with a local children’s caving club inspired me to explore and piqued my curiosity about nature. I would look across the landscape and wonder what had formed the caves below and the terrain above. That curiosity gradually grew into a desire to understand the world from every angle - how ecosystems function, how communities live within them and benefit from ecological services, and how enterprises serve those communities.
This led me to work and study in over 20 countries. My latest engagement is on the intersection of research and development and business solutions in rural eastern North Carolina.
